Macerata outside from the hotel,
events, culture and entertainment
Macerata is a beautiful town rich in history (founded in 1290), with its charming old buildings that overlook the characteristic town alleys. The medieval order is evident in the layout of the town and in the walls, perfectly preserved, that still surround the town. In the beautiful historical center of Macerata, just a short walk away from the hotel, a visit to buildings such as the Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy, the Cathedral, the Carriage Museum, the tower, the Sferisterio and the Lauro Rossi Theatre is a must. The concentration of all these facilities in such a small space, and therefore easy to visit on foot, make Macerata is a town full of art and history.
The town is also home to one of the oldest universities in the world, accessible from the hotel on foot in just 3 minutes.
In the typical restaurants in the center do not forget to sample specialties such as vincisgrassi, the ciaiuscolo and cremini: the quality of the products of our territory is synonymous of the passion we use to prepare them!
In the area of Macerata there are many opportunities for traditional folklore and live popular traditions: important historical re-enactments are the "Corsa alla spada" at Camerino, the "Disfida del bracciale" at Treia, the historic parade at Cingoli, the "Giostra de le Castella" at Caldarola, the "Giostra del Saraceno" at S. Ginesio and the "Palio dei Castelli" at San Severino, the "Serafino d’Oro” at Sarnano that is probably the oldest in time.
The position of Macerata is enviable, midway between the sea and the mountains! Do not miss out on the coast, just 30 minutes from the hotel, the beautiful beaches of Civitanova Marche, Porto Potenza Picena, Porto Recanati and in a few more minutes you can reach the Conero with Numana, Sirolo; for those who love the mountains close by (just 1 hour) are the Monti Sibillini and it is possible to visit Sarnano, Bolognola, Ussita Frontignano...
